SUN-DAC Centre for the Disabled was established in June 1990 for the intellectually disabled aged between 16-60 years old. It functions as a day-care centre to provide support for the clients' families and relieve them of their care giving duties.
SUN-DAC provides the clients with training programmes, which concentrate mainly on two areas, daily living skills and vocational skills. Daily living skills include social skills, personal grooming, hygiene, domestic skills and functional mobility. Vocational skills training involve art & craft making, simple kitchen duties, occupational therapy, excursions, gardening and participating in tele-matches. All these activities seek to equip clients with basic living skills as well as social and recreational skills, hence assisting them in integrating into society.
In addition, SUN-DAC is able to provide financial aid and counselling services when required to family members of their clients. Other services also include occupational therapy, respite care service and Probation Attachments for Young Offenders (MCYS).
